| What Artists Think:
Here is a review from one of our beta-model testers, Mike McLean, bassist extraordinaire and teacher in San Antonio, TX - Nov 16 2009:
The updated Sub Wah is a total Funk Box!!! Yesterday I was Playing with Local Country Rocker Mark Monaco @ the San Antonio Rock & Roll Marathon. I played around with it during sound check to see how it sounded through a medium sized system. I was loving it, but later during a tune Mark tells me to solo and points to the sub-wah!!! That's a real compliment!! Longer travel time means a bigger sweet spot!!! Still got the Highs and the Lows!! This is THE sleeper bass wah/envelop pedal. Thanks for listening and Thanks for your support!!! You guys Rock!! - Mike
How it works
The SUB-WAH employs sophisticated electronic filters to provide filter ranges all the way down to below low B.
Fully adjustable high-gain circuits provide clean boost to an optimized sweep range arrived at with the help of months and months of trial and error with some notable professional bass players, including Thee-Ram-Jams (Bootsy Collins) featured on our site - the funkiest bass player you could wish to encounter.
The SUB-WAH is by-passed when the pedal is all the way back. When the pedal is stepped on and rocked from the off position, the optical linkage automatically and noiselessly turns the unit on and then provides the wah sound of choice as the pedal is pressed down.
The resonance control allows adjustment of the peak value (Q) of the wah determining how much wah range the pedal provides.
The gain control allows control over how much gain the pedal provides to allow soloing at higher volume levels.
